Good preparation is half the work

At many waxing studios, preparation mainly consists of applying talcum powder before waxing begins immediately.

At Body Care for Men, I take a more thorough approach. I carefully prepare the skin using Italwax Pre-Wax Lotion with aloe vera. This lotion helps soothe the skin and prepares it for hair removal using products such as hot wax and film wax. The lotion also creates a thin protective layer between the skin and the wax. This reduces how strongly the wax adheres to the skin, which may make the treatment feel more comfortable. I only begin waxing once the skin has been properly prepared.

Wax selected for men’s hair

At a general waxing studio, products are often used that were developed for women’s finer body hair. Men’s hair is typically thicker, coarser, and stronger, so standard wax may not remove all the hair in a single pass. As a result, the same area sometimes needs to be treated several times. This is not only unnecessary but can also put additional strain on the skin. At Body Care for Men, I use waxing products suitable for thick, coarse male body hair. These products grip the hair more effectively, which means I generally need to treat the same area fewer times. For me, selecting the right products is not a minor detail, it is an essential part of a professional waxing treatment for men.

Proper skincare after waxing

The treatment does not end once the last hairs have been removed. After waxing, I carefully cleanse the skin and remove any remaining wax residue. I then apply Italwax After-Wax Lotion Azulene. This lotion helps soothe red or irritated skin, absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy layer, and leaves the skin feeling soft and cared for.
